We left Lisbon early that day, heading to Alentejo, eager to see its light and scent of the ocean.
As we arrived, all the stress of the city life disappeared and slowness and calmness installed.

We worked to prepare everything for the guests’ arrival, knowing those ‘guests’ would soon become our friends, with whom we would share a meal and life stories.

We listened to Margarida and Maria stories while the sun was going away and learned how they decided to change their busy and stressful life to a slower and peaceful one.

We shared a meal, laughed and enjoyed the fresh air, and finished the evening with a good cup of coffee shared with new friends.

Last Saturday we gathered, to celebrate the earth, roots and origins.
We gathered around the table in a beautiful Lisbon house, ate what grows just beneath the surface of the earth, met the old friends and got to know new ones.
We nourish our bodies with a root inspired menu and talked until late in the evening.
We left home full of new memories which we will cherish for a long time.

No Sábado passado reunimo-nos para celebrar a terra, raízes e origens.
Reunimo-nos em torno da mesa numa bela casa de Lisboa, comemos o que cresce logo abaixo da superfície da Terra, reuniumos com os velhos amigos e conhecemos novos.
Nutrimos os nossos corpos com um menu inspirado em raízes e conversamos até tarde nessa noite.
Saímos da casa cheios de novas memórias que estimaremos por bastante tempo.

The Kinfolk Table Gathering Portugal

There is a book, a beautiful cookbook… and a blueberry farm… and the ocean near the farm.

We would love to invite you to gather with us around the table in the farm near the ocean and celebrate.
We would love to hear about your favourite recipes and make recipe exchange.

Let’s gather around the table and celebrate The Kinfolk Table on a cosy autumn day.

We will wait for you on the 23rd of November at 16h in Uva do Monte. Bring your blanket and favourite recipe and join us… and don’t forget to leave your cameras, smartphones and the other gadgets at home and enjoy the moment!!

Há um livro, um belo livro de receitas… e uma quinta de mirtilos… e o oceano perto da quinta.

Gostaríamos de vos convidar para se reunirem connosco à volta da mesa na quinta perto do mar e celebrar.
Gostaríamos muito de ouvir as vossas receitas favoritas e fazer troca das mesmas.

Vamos reunir em torno da mesa e celebrar The Kinfolk Table num dia de Outono acolhedor.

Kinfolk Flower Potluck Portugal

Wind and cold decided to make us company that weekend.
We welcomed it, preparing jackets, blankets and wood to make fire.
Guests arrived with hands full of wild flowers and big smiles on their faces, eager to start making beautiful arrangements.
Wooden stove was ready to cook the organic meal for our guests and we started our meal surrounded with fruit trees and flowers. Everybody felt as at home, helping to place table, bringing food, speaking with the other guests, laughing… it felt like a big family gathering.
Fire was a place to gather around and continue stories with a glass of wine… until late in the evening…

O frio e o vento decidiram fazer-nos companhia naquele fim de semana.
Demos-lhes as boas vindas, preparando casacos, cobertores e madeira para fazer a fogueira.
Os convidados chegaram com as mãos cheias de flores silvestres e grandes sorrisos nos rostos, ansiosos por começar a fazer belos arranjos.
O forno a lenha estava pronto para cozinhar a refeição biológica para os nossos convidados e começamos a nossa refeição rodeados de árvores de fruto e flores. Todos se sentiam como em casa, a ajudar a pôr a mesa, a trazer comida, a falar com os outros convidados, a rir… parecia uma grande reunião de família.
A fogueira era o lugar para se reunir ao redor e continuar histórias com um copo de vinho… até bem tarde de noite…
