Happy to share LUDC Shop new look and few new products.
Autumn is here, not just as a date on the calendar but also in the air. Despite the short sleeves are still hanging in my wardrobe, the evenings and mornings are cold and air is crisp.
The best place to realize that the autumn is here are the markets, full of new seasonal ingredients that all my body is craving about.
The other day I decided to play a bit with LUDC Shop ceramics and put it in Autumn mood. They are timeless and fit in for every season and I hope you like the result.
Very often I am asked a same question, how did LUDC Shop started and when did idea came up.
In last six years I met some pretty awesome makers.
I coudn´t but feel they all do amazing job but they were not connected between each other and some of them didn’t have visibility they deserved.
Idea started taking shape in my head. What if I make a platform where I will show products of makers I truly respect? What if I help promoting their work on a same platform? What if we develop exclusive products together?
Today I would like to introduce makers I worked with in last years, who inspire me on a daily basis and whose work is stunning:
Otchipotchi :: Otchipotchi ceramics was created in 2010 by Paula Valentim who is inspired by nature and believes in the slow pace of life.
Paula likes colour, trees and flowers, sunshine and thunderstorms, cats and dogs, books and magazines, silence and water, birds singing, the smell of fresh bread and the earth after it rains, simple details, the sea and big skies …
MF Ceramics :: MF Ceramics is a ceramic studio created by Margarida Fernandes in 2011, where each piece is unique and totally handmade with care and patient. MF Ceramics has been inspired, most of the time, in the kitchen atmosphere and in all that is relatively to this basic need of life – food and cooking. The interest in collect objects from the past, that Margarida learned with her grandmother, has influenced and enriched her craft production.
Anna Westerlund Ceramics :: Anna Westerlund Ceramics is a collection of handmade ceramics made with love. Anna started her studio in 2010 after travelling all over the world as a model. Being half Portuguese half Swedish has influenced her work a lot, making it a combination of the simple white design from the north with the colourful joy of living from the south. Each piece is handcrafted and unique wishing that when you use it you can feel the hands of who made it.
Wood Fox :: Portuguese brand that was born from the taste for Nature and from the will to do something nice with it in a harmless way. All the products are made of wood Bruno finds in forest that either broke off or was simply cut down by the time of pruning. Each product is unique. It’s one of a kind.
SUL :: Created in very small scale editions, SUL pieces are made only with leathers which inspire. They are fond of materials that age with wearing and become worn both by hand touch, sun and rain. SUL stand for simplicity, unique pieces that endure over time, accompanying successive generations, carrying moments to be told, like carved tattoos.
ARMINHO :: ARMINHO is a brand created by the creative couple João and Raquel. Their studio is based in Oporto and their products are carefully handmade, using ancient techniques like letterpress. They love paper, wood and natural materials that they find locally to make notebooks and posters. Arminho describe themselves as compulsive makers, urge to create in every aspect of their daily life, from what they eat to what they wear, passing through their work and environment.

Winter is slowly installing around here, shades are deeper and darker and gray tones are dominant.
Winter is bringing colorful leaves, cold air , foggy mornings and winter gathering around the table with friends and family.
Holiday season is in front and LUDC Shop changed it’s look and colors, and got prepared for all of this.

Playing with ceramics and wooden spoons from LUDC Shop …
Thank to all of those who already have some of these pieces at their homes, use them in everyday life around the table with those they care about.
In the last few years I met a few Portuguese makers whose work I deeply admire.
Over time I got to know not just their work, but also them personally.
I kept thinking on how the rest of you out there should meet and know them and their work. That is how the idea came up of LUDC Shop.
In the last months we worked together, developing exclusive products for the shop, one that would meet mine and their aesthetic. I couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this with the world.
Every single piece is unique and handmade with love.
Every single imperfection is due to be celebrated.
Every single piece has a place in my heart and I hope it wins a place in yours too.
