Last September my friends gathered for beach picnic to celebrate the end of summer.
This gathering made part of Spoonful Salt Issue.

I made Spelt Sourdough Bread that we ate with Herbs Labneh and Black Tea Cured Salmon, baked Beef and Olives Empanadas and for desert we had Berry Tart with Crumble and Chia Pudding with Strawberries and Hazelnuts and drank Grapefruit and Fennel Lemonade.

You can find all these recipes and story about our celebration in last issue of Spoonful magazine.

Spending days surrounded my water, nature and friends, enjoying silence or spending hours speaking about this and that around the table, having long walks on the beach or in the forest, reading, eating, listening to sounds around us …
Silent Living houses are based on some of these value. I spent few days in their houses trying to capture all of these and here you can see few of my favourite images.

*****

I am so proud to be part of ‘SUL family’.
I can see this brand growing and I grow with them. Every new piece is even more beautiful then the previous one.

I know people who design them and those who made them, and knowing what care and love is involved in every stitch is also very important in feeling those pieces and trying to capture them in the best way.

There are no words with which I could describe Inês Telles and her work. I always hoped I would have the chance to put it into images.
This is how I visually could express it, feminine but strong, soft but aggressive, light but dark… her work is extremely inspiring.

*****

Back in November I worked with Mini by Luna , my favourite shop in Lisbon (so you can understand my excitement about it). They launched online shop and I photographed products for house.
It was such a fun doing this session inside the shop with people coming and going, stopping at the window looking in .. quite an experience.

P.S. if you didn’t have time doing shopping for holidays I suggest you to look here

Very often I think about simplicity, its meaning and importance in my life.
It is something very hard to reach, we have the tendency to complicate, add unnecessary details…
It is something I seek for in my work, in relations and everything that surrounds me.

Back in June I worked together with SUL, photographing their new pieces. I kept thinking how extremely simple but so elegant and beautiful their products are. I wanted to capture them that way, emphasizing their beauty and simplicity.

‘… We are in favor of simplicity and perfection, pieces that endure over time, from parents to children, carrying moments to be told, like tattoos …’

*****

Lisbon always changes.
No matter how many times you pass the same streets, and turn the same corners, they are always different.
Different light, different shade, different scent… Lisbon is the eternal muse for a photographer, the place where you can spend hours wandering around, taking photos and never get tired of it.

Beth and I chose Lisbon as the place for our Food and Lifestyle Photography and Styling Workshop because of that, and we knew this city wouldn’t fail on us… we were so right about it.

We wandered through its streets chasing the light.
We spent days cooking, styling, photographing, gathering around the table and exchanging thoughts.
We made a picnic in a beautiful park, met locals and visited makers.
We inspired and got inspired.
We met an amazing group of ladies, each different on its own way, which made this journey so amazing.
Thank you Olaiya, Angee, Krissy, Sarah, Rachel, Emma, Jen, Kaley, Marianne and Amy
And… the days wouldn’t be the same without the support and help from my friends Joana & Egle who cared about every detail and everybody involved.

*****

Luz diferente, sombra diferente, cheiro diferente…

Obrigado Olaiya, Angee, Krissy, Sarah, Rachel, Emma, Jen, Kaley, Marianne e Amy

I am so excited to share some of the work I made for Anna Westerlund Ceramics – Watermelon collection. If you ask me to describe it in a few words I would say fresh, colorful, playful…
I can imagine summer parties with a table set with these beautiful pieces, lemonade, strawberries and mint.
I can imagine kids running around with colorful ice creams and ladies dressed in light dresses with fresh colors which match the ceramics…
It looks and feels like summer and Anna nailed it again!!!

*****
